Castleford coach Ian Millward has spoken about the suspension to star player Rangi Chase which resulted in a broken jaw to Tangi Ropati.

The tackle, during the Carnegie Challenge Cup loss to Featherstone Rovers,
earned Chase a three game ban and stirred up some passionate responses from
rugby league fans.
“First of all the Castleford club, Rangi Chase and myself as coach believe he was guilty,” Millward told Tigers TV.
“If you make any contact with the head of an opposing player that’s a guilty offense. On the flipside too, we as a club, Rangi and myself and everyone at our club are very remorseful that the player occurred an injury in it (tackle) and nobody wants to see that, and our wishes go out to the young man (Tangi Ropati).
“We didn’t think it was intentional in regard that there’s three gradings, careless, reckless and malicious. We didn’t think it was malicious and reckless. He does hit him, his shoulder hits his head. But unfortunately an incident has occurred.
Millward concluded, “We’ve taken our medicine and we’ll move on.”
