Huddersfield have handed full-back Greg Eden a new contract after a flying start to his career with the Giants.
The 21-year-old has been dubbed "England's Billy Slater" by coach Nathan Brown after impressing in the first three months of the season.
Eden joined Huddersfield in the winter on a two-year deal from Castleford and after scoring 11 tries in 16 appearances has now signed a new contract that takes him to the end of 2015.
"It's all gone much better than I ever could have imagined really and to get such an early extension is great for me," he said.
"My initial aim was just to get used to training full time and push for selection but now I really feel part of the side and think that we can really do something special this year."
Huddersfield will be hoping the announcement placates fans stunned by the news of captain Kevin Brown's impending move to Widnes and dismayed by a third consecutive Super League defeat.
"Greg has received many plaudits in a relatively short period of time with us and he is a player that both Nathan Brown and Paul Anderson recommended that we move to tie up longer term sooner rather than later," said Giants managing director Richard Thewlis.
"I think all our supporters will be delighted that we have been able to finalise this and it is great to have his signature logged for the foreseeable future."
