Catalan v Wigan preview

It will be a special day for Catalan Dragons for two reasons when they go up against Stobart Super League leaders Wigan on Saturday.

The match sees the French club head out on the road from their usual home in Perpignan, with Montpellier hosting the clash with the in-form Warriors.

It will also be a landmark occasion for Dragons forward Steve Menzies, who at the age of 38 and 188 days will become the oldest player to appear in Super League since Brad Davisback in 2004.

The veteran Australian has still yet to decide if he will play on beyond this year, though he has hinted he could go on for another season.

"I'm not entirely sure what I plan to do at this stage - hopefully I will make a decision soon," he said.

"I am still loving training and the playing and my body feels really good. If I am happy with the level I am playing at, and I can keep competing at that level, then I probably will."

As for the rest of the Dragons, coach Trent Robinson is able to recall full-back Clint Greenshields, centre Setamaita Sa and winger Damien Blanch. Jamal Fakir and Frederic Vaccari, however, remain on the sidelines.

Wigan headed out to France this week boosted by the return of Lee Mossop and Chris Tuson from suspension, though fellow forward Gareth Hock remains banned.

Teenagers Dominic Crosby, Jack Hughes, Rhodri Lloyd and Logan Tomkins have kept their places in the 19-man squad after all impressed during the 50-6 demolition of Leeds Rhinos last time out.

Coach Shane Wane was delighted with the performance against the reigning champions at Headingley - but has warned his players not to let their standards slip.

"Our last performance was spot on but that is all forgotten if we don't perform against Catalan on Saturday," Wane told Warriors TV.

"We know it's going to be a tough trip (to Catalan) as they got beaten by Salford and I know their coach was a bit sore after that game so they'll be coming out firing.

"We have watched all our footage of our last game against Catalan and we know there are areas where we can get them again and again.

"It's just about us being mentally prepared and turning up with our best game."

Catalan Dragons: Greenshields, Blanch, Pryce, Sa, Bosc, Dureau, Ferriol, Henderson, Casty, Menzies, Anderson, Mounis, Raguin, Gossard, Millard, Paea, Baitieri, Duport, Fisher.
