Salford will be without Shannan McPherson for the rest of the season after he tore his medial knee ligament against St Helens.
The Australian prop was carried off the field 15 minutes from the end of the Reds' 32-10 defeat by Saints last Friday, though he has at least been told he doesn't require surgery on the injury.
McPherson joined the City Reds from South Sydney Rabbitohs in the winter and has impressed in his debut campaign in the Stobart Super League.
Salford lead physiotherapist Matt Jenkinson said on the club's official website: "Shannan has a significant MCL tear and is out for the season but no surgery is required which is good news.
"It's very disappointing for all involved but he will be back with no long-term problems next season."
Salford, minus McPherson, are next in action against Warrington on Friday night, live on White Rat Tv.
