The Rugby Football League are investigating a biting allegation brought by Wigan full-back Sam Tomkins.
The England international made the claim against Castleford hooker Ryan Hudson during the Warriors' 40-16 Stobart Super League win over the Tigers at the DW Stadium last Friday.
The incident was placed on report by referee George Stoke and the RFL's match-review panel on Monday requested more information from Wigan before deciding whether to bring any charges.
When asked about the incident in the post-match press conference, Warriors coach Shaun Wane said: "I need to have a look at that before I make a comment on it. I'd be amazed and disappointed."
Meanwhile, Hull prop Mark O'Meley and Salford forward Stephen Wild will definitely appear before the RFL's disciplinary committee on Tuesday.
Both have been charged with punching from the same game, O'Meley having been sent to the sin-bin for his part in a clash during the Airlie Birds' 34-26 win over the Reds. They have been charged with minor grade A offences.
Hull KR's Jake Webster will not face any further punishment for striking an opponent during his side's 32-26 win at Widnes, the centre instead being given a formal caution.
