St Helens will be looking to inflict more misery on Huddersfield when the teams meet on Sunday night
While Saints are a side on the up, the Giants, who now have Paul Anderson at the helm following Nathan Brown's exit, have won just one of their last nine in league action.
St Helens climbed to third in the standings last Friday with a hard-fought 20-15 success over the high-flying Catalan Dragons in the south of France.
The Giants did edge out Saints 17-16 earlier in the campaign, although that win came early in March when they were taking Super League by storm.
Since then things have gone downhill quickly, meaning Brown - who will be taking charge at Langtree Park next season - leaving Huddersfield ahead of schedule.
Mark Flanagan is named in Saints' 19-man squad and is set to make his first appearance since the end of June. Shaun Magennis is also recalled whilst Tony Puletuais banned following his red card against the Dragons.
Interim head coach Mike Rush knows his team will need to maintain their form if they are to usurp Warrington and secure second in the standings.
"We can't start talking about second place really as it isn't in our hands and we're reliant on other results," he said.
"We also need to stay in the form we are but our next couple of games are big and will define where we finish in the league this season."
David Faiumu and Michael Lawrence are recalled to the Giants' 19-man squad in place of Dale Ferguson and Aaron Murphy.
Despite Huddersfield's woeful form, Anderson is adamant his newly-inherited squad will fight until the end of the campaign.
"This group is not going to lie down, curl over and wait for the end of the season," he told the club's official website.
"We don't have a great deal of choice in regard to squad, so we have to get people up and running and ready to fire again and this is a very good group of players.
"We have just got to get them firing and enjoying rugby again and enjoying each other's company as well. This is what you have to do when your backs hit the wall, you have to try and find a familiar ground and work hard for each other."
