Widnes will be looking to move themselves off the foot of the Stobart Super League table when they entertain troubled Castleford.
The Vikings know a fourth league victory of the campaign would shift them above the London Broncos, who were heavily beaten by Leeds on Saturday.
Denis Betts' side have so far managed to defeat table-toppers Wigan and Huddersfield on home turf this season, and he admits he's been contemplating the clash with Castleford, which is live on Sky Sports, for some time now.
"We've had one eye on the Cas game," he said. "I think this game and the rest of our home games this year will give us an ability to not finish bottom.
"That'w what we've got to aim for, to put our strongest possible team on the field and get the best results we can."
Betts is without full-back Shaun Briscoe, who was injured on his return to action against former club Wigan last Monday, and Paddy Flynn.
However, he is able to recall skipper Jon Clarke, on-loan centre Stefan Marsh and forward John Kite, plus new recruit Eamon O'Carroll could make his debut for the club after joining from top-flight rivals Hull.
"My body feels good," said prop O'Carroll, who made just the one start for the Airlie Birds in 2012. "I'm feeling fit and ready to go and I'm looking forward to pulling on a Vikings shirt and getting out there on the pitch and playing."
Castleford, meanwhile, will be looking to do the double over the Vikings having already beaten them 36-12 at the PROBIZ Coliseum back in May.
Coach Ian Millward is again without stand-off Rangi Chase, who is suspended while the club investigate an alleged breach of discipline.
Richard Owen is also suspended while captain Danny Orr is a doubt after injuring his knee in the loss to the Rhinos last time out.
Rookie winger James Clare is in line to make just his second Super League appearance and at least the visitors do have centre Josh Griffin back after missing the last two matches with an Achilles injury
