Huddersfield v Catalan Match Preview

Huddersfield will be looking to put an end to a five-match losing run when they host Catalan Dragons at the newly-named John Smith's Stadium on Sunday.

Having been challenging at the top end of the table at the start of the campaign, the Giants have seen their play-off position come under serious threat following a disastrous run of form.

Coach Paul Anderson is still searching for his first win since taking charge, and the fixture list has again not been kind with the visit of the high-flying Dragons this weekend.

The new boss saw his side thumped at St Helens in front of the Sky Sports cameras last time out, leading to some frank discussions with his squad.

"Last week against St Helens we let ourselves down in many areas this week we have had some real honest talks and got some things out in the open about what is expected," he told the club's official website.

"We went out there last week and thought we were trying hard but the reality is we were kidding ourselves.

"Catalan's are a quality team who are well coached. They are in a healthy position in the table and their performances and results show they are there on merit."

Anderson has dropped Scott Moore from his 19-man squad and welcomes back Jermaine McGillvary and Aaron Murphy from injury.

The Dragons make the trip to England boosted by the returns of second rower Jamal Fakir and hooker Ian Henderson, who were rested for the home victory over the London Broncos.

However, the French club are without Jean-Philippe Baile after the centre suffered a ruptured bicep.

Coach Trent Robinson has included French internationals Kevin Larroyer and Antoni Maria, who are set to make their Super League debuts, in his 19-man squad.

Catalan can move into third in the table with a win on their travels, albeit only possibly for just over 24 hours as St Helens take on Warrington on Monday night.

Huddersfield: Grix, Lawrence, Cudjoe, Gilmour, McGillvary, Brough, Crabtree, Robinson, Mason, Fa'alogo, Faiumu, Patrick, Chan, Lee, George, Murphy, Cording, Eden, Ferres.

Catalan Dragons: Blanch, Pryce, Stacul, Dureau, Ferriol, Henderson, Casty, Mounis, Raguin, Pelissier, Millard, Fakir, Paea, Baitieri, Duport, Fisher, Cardace, Larroyer, Maria.
