Super League preview: Catalan Dragons v Huddersfield Giants

Catalans Dragons have made three changes to their squad ahead of Saturday's Super League clash with Huddersfield Giants.

Scott Dureau: Dragons scrum-half nearing playing return

Catalan Dragons scrum-half Scott Dureau has been cleared for a return to full training nearly four months after having a tumour removed from behind his eye. The talented playmaker will be able to work with the rest of the Dragons squad without restrictions after consulting the neurological surgery department in Toulouse.

Dureau has been back in light work for more than a month but the news that he can step up his programme means the end of his recovery phase is in sight - he will undergo more tests in four weeks to decide when he can make a playing return.

Leon Pryce, Remi Casty and Lopini Paea all return to Laurent Frayssinous' 19-man squad having been rested for the Dragons' victory against Hunslet last weekend. The inclusion of the trio means Jason Baitieri, Morgan Escare and David Guasch who all featured in the 50-12 Challenge Cup win are left out of the squad.

Meanwhile Frayssinous is still without Brent Webb, Scott Dureau and Olivier Elima who remain on a growing list of injuries for the Dragons. Huddersfield Giants coach Paul Anderson has also named three changes as his squad prepares for the trip to the Stade Gilbert Brutus.

Centre Luke George has been loaned to Hull KR which means returning forward Luke Robinson has a place in the squad.

Following last weekend's 13-4 victory against Batley in the Challenge Cup youngsters Josh Johnson and Nathan Mason are left out of the as Dale Ferguson and Warrington loanee Brad Dwyer both get the nod.

The Giants return to Super League action with three successive victories under their belt as they look to place pressure on leaders Wigan who hold a one point advantage at the head of the table.

Winger Jermaine McGillvary is looking forward to the Giants' clash in the south of France. "Catalan is a good place to play," he said. "It is a real hostile environment, but at the end of the day it is just a pitch and we will go over there and play our own game.

"We know it is going to be a tough game, as Catalan games always are."
