Challenge Cup preview: Hull FC v Wakefield Wildcats

Jason Crookes replaces Joe Westerman in the only change to Hull FC's squad for the Tetley's Challenge Cup fifth-round tie with Wakefield Wildcats at the KC Stadium.

Jason Crookes returns for Hull FC

Westerman is ruled out due to the hand injury he sustained during Hull's win over London Broncos on May 3.

"Everyone sets a few goals at the start of the year and this is a competition we really want to go after," Hull coach Peter Gentle told the club's official website.

"We want to be in it right the way through and we are treating this game as our biggest and most important of the year.

"The importance of this game is not lost on us, it's the most important one we've had this year and we are treating it that way.

"This allows us to get into the last eight, we can't go any further in the competition if we don't win on Friday and it's win at all costs for us."

Wakefield have named Richard Mathers in their squad for the first time since he ruptured a testicle against Wigan in April.

Justin Poore is also included despite rolling his ankle during the win over Catalans Dragons last week but there is no place for Paul Sykes or Reece Lane, who is replaced by Matty Wildie.

Hull, who beat the Wildcats away from home in Super League on Easter Monday, have won their last three cup-ties against Wakefield and went on to reach the final each time.

Wakefield's Australian centre Dean Collis has only experienced one Challenge Cup match but is already a big fan of the competition.

"I like the concept," he said. "It gives you something else to strive for.

"It's a different atmosphere when it comes to the Challenge Cup. I really enjoy it.

"We played Leeds last year and the intensity was like a finals game."

Hull FC squad: Bowden, Briscoe, Crookes, Crooks, Ellis, Green, Holdsworth, Heremaia, Horne, Houghton, Johnson, Lineham, Lynch, McDonnell, O'Meley, Pitts, Watts, Whiting, Yeaman

Wakefield squad: Mathers, Fox, Collis, L Smith, Cockayne, T Smith, Poore, Aiton, Raleigh, Lauitiiti, Kirmond, Washbrook, Wood, Amor, Wilkes, Mellars, Wildie, Annakin, Molloy
