Salford's teenage scrum-half Theo Fages has been named in France's 40-man World Cup squad.
The 18-year-old Fages forced his way into the Salford first-team earlier this year and his displays have caught the eye of France boss Richard Agar.
There are 17 players from Catalan Dragons in the squad, including Olivier Elima, last year's captain who is recovering from a ruptured bicep.
Agar also handed a call-up to former Dragons second rower Sebastien Raguin, who still plays for feeder team UTC, despite becoming Catalan's general manager.
The squad will be trimmed to 23 or 24 by October 1 and could still include overseas-based players Clint Greenshields, Dimitri Pelo, Benjamin Garcia and Tony Gigot.
Agar is yet to decide whether to include Catalan's Australia-born scrum-half Scott Dureau, who qualifies under the three-year residency rule later this year.
The squad will meet up in Perpignan next week for the first training camp.
