The Rugby Football League may re-open its investigation into allegations the recruitment of Craig Kopczak by Huddersfield last season.
The RFL's initial probe - which followed a complaint from Bradford - concluded Huddersfield had no case to answer.
The Bulls maintained that the Wales captain had been approached illegally by the Giants. He subsequently walked out on them on the eve of the penultimate match of last season.
At the suggestion of the RFL, Huddersfield paid the Bulls £20,000 compensation.
However this week Kopczak admitted he had agreed to join Huddersfield on August 8, a full month before he left the Bulls.
The revelation came as he gave evidence in the Leeds high court case in which former Huddersfield prop Keith Mason successfully argued that he had been unlawfully dismissed by the Giants.
A League spokesman said: "The RFL will be examining the evidence submitted in court to determine whether there was an illegal approach for Kopczak.
"Our own investigation found no case to answer at the time but, if there are inconsistencies in the information supplied, then further investigations may be required."
