Wakefield are waiting anxiously to discover if they will face any punishment over the crowd disturbance that occurred during their Super League match against Widnes on Monday night.
Stewards were forced to step in to separate rival fans after fighting broke out towards the end of the Wildcats' 24-14 win over the Vikings at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
A spokesman for the Rugby Football League said the governing body was awaiting reports from the match commissioner and Wakefield's ground safety officer before deciding whether to launch an investigation.
The Wildcats have a suspended £1,000 fine hanging over them for crowd trouble at last year's derby against Castleford.
The match, which took place on Friday, April 6, was marred by trouble which flared in the north stand between rival supporters.
An independent operational rules tribunal found the club guilty of misconduct in October and hit them with a £1,000 fine, suspended until the end of 2013.
Wakefield coach Richard Agar condemned those involved in Monday night's disturbance when he spoke at the post-match press conference.
"It's not often you see it," said Agar. "I can't comment on the incident because I was watching the game.
"But I hope some action is taken against the perpetrators. It's ugly and it's not something any genuine rugby league person
