Castleford Tigers have continued to strengthen ahead of the 2014 Super League season with the addition of Ashley Gibson on a two-year contract.
The 26-year-old centre will see out of the remainder of the current campaign with the Salford City Reds before joining the Tigers for pre-season.
Gibson joined Salford after making 32 appearances for hometown team the Leeds Rhinos and has 54 tries in 111 Super League career matches.
"I'm chuffed to sign for Castleford Tigers," he told the club's official website. "When my manager came to me saying that Cas were interested in me I was over the moon.
"There were a couple of other offers but I wanted to be playing my rugby close to home so it's a great opportunity for me in Castleford. I want to do the best that I can for the club.
"Castleford's recent form has shown everybody what they can do so I'm happy that I'm going to be a part of that."
Tigers head coach Daryl Powell knows all about Gibson's ability due to his time with Leeds and is delighted to have secured his signature.
"Ashley is a player that I have rated since I coached at Leeds when he was a young player coming through the system," said Powell.
"He is a versatile and skilful player with a great attitude and his signing further strengthens the quality and depth in our squad for next season."
