Super League preview: Catalan Dragons v Warrington Wolves

Catalan dragons v Warrington Wolves

Catalan Dragons host Warrington Wolves in the final round of regular season Super League matches with both sides sure to have at least one eye on the play-offs.

The home side can move up to sixth with a win whilst the Wolves are guaranteed to end the league season in second and will host Leeds next Saturday in the play-offs.

The Dragons have been in indifferent form of late with two wins in their last five Super League matches.

Warrington have won four of their previous five league encounters, although they have also lost the Challenge Cup semi-final to Hull FC in that time, and have triumphed in their last three meetings with the Dragons, including the reverse fixture earlier in the season.

Catalans coach Laurent Frayssinous is able to welcome back Morgan Escare and Zeb Taia for Saturday's game although Olivier Elima, Louis Anderson, Jason Baitieri and Daryl Millard are all unavailable due to injury.

There are two additionas to the visitors squad from last week's win at St Helens with Ryan Atkins and Brett Hodgson replacing Tyrone McCarthy and Gareth O'Brien.

Wolves' head coach Tony Smith is expecting a difficult game to end the regular season.

"Any time you travel to Perpignan and play Catalan it's a big challenge," he said.

"We've experienced both sides of it - when we've handled it well and also not so well - it is a good test. They are a good team and will ask a lot of questions of any side.

"In terms of the ball they are prepared to take some risks and make some errors; they are prepared to throw it around so we'll need to be good in our defence and with the ball to control the number of times Catalan get to attack."

Catalan Dragons: Webb, Pryce, Taia, Bosc, Dureau, Henderson, Casty, Menzies, Mounis, Pelissier, Larroyer, Bousquet, Fakir, Paea, Duport, Vaccari, Escare, Whitehead, Garcia.

Warrington Wolves: Atkins, C. Bridge, Briers, Carvell, Cooper, Evans, Grix, Harrison, Higham, Hill, Hodgson, J. Monaghan, M. Monaghan, Morley, Ratchford, C. Riley, Waterhouse, Westwood, Wood.
