Catalan Dragons scrum-half Scott Dureau, who made just eight appearances in 2013 after overcoming surgery to remove a brain tumour, is facing a four-month lay-off with an arm injury.
The Catalan Dragons have confirmed that the scrum-half will undergo surgery on an arm injury on Wednesday.
The Australian suffered a ruptured biceps tendon during Sunday's 36-6 Super League defeat at Castleford, his first match of the season.
Dureau made only eight appearances for the Dragons last year after overcoming an operation to remove a brain tumour.
A statement from the Perpignan club on Tuesday read: "The Catalans scrum-half suffered a biceps tendon rupture and will undergo surgery in France on Wednesday."
The Dragons, who have lost both their opening games, will also be without full-back or winger Damien Cardace for their first home game of the season against Leeds on Friday night after he picked up an ankle injury against the
