Mandy Koukash giving the deal the 'thumbs-down'
Mandy Koukash understands her bid to buy Bradford Bulls from the club's administrator has proved unsuccessful.
Koukash, whose husband Marwan owns Salford Red Devils, was one of a number of parties seeking to gain control of the Super League club and lodged a bid before Thursday's deadline.
Koukash attended Sunday's defeat to Huddersfield Giants at Odsal and had been quietly optimistic her offer would be accepted by administrators, Leeds-based accountant David Wilson.
Wilson is yet to announce which bidders, which include representatives from Bradford Park Avenue, Bradford City and London-based businessman Richard Lamb, have been accepted.
Koukash has not given up helping the club completely, stating she remains keen to work alongside whomever secures control of the fallen giants.
"Would like to wish all other bidders the very best," she Tweeted. "I am hearing my bid will not be the winning one. My bid was focused in helping the Bulls. "As I understand, the RFL has nothing to do with the decision. It is based on the highest bid to pay the old debt.
"If possible, I would consider working with the winning bidder." Outspoken Red Devils supremo also hinted his wife's bid ultimately ended without the desired outcome.
"Sadly, my wife's bid to buy the Bulls will not be the winning one," he said. "As she understands, it was not the highest bid."
