Scotland's preparations for the forthcoming Rugby League World Cup have been hit by two late withdrawals from their squad.
Batley half-back Gareth Moore, who will join Featherstone in the off-season, has been forced to pull out due to a shoulder injury, while Castleford prop Jonathan Walker has lost his battle to recover from a troublesome knee problem.
Scotland coach Steve McCormack is expected to add Workington scrum-half Callum Phillips and Whitehaven's former Castleford prop Paul Jackson to his squad for the tournament.
Phillips trained with the Bravehearts at Featherstone on Sunday alongside his brother and club team-mate Brett, who won his first Scotland cap last year.
Scotland will now submit medical reports on Moore and Walker as they seek permission from RLWC2013 to replace them in the 24-man squad that was named last Wednesday.
Scotland captain Danny Brough, the Huddersfield skipper and recently-crowned Super League Man of Steel, and Sheffield Eagles captain Mitchelll Stringer were among the players who linked up with the squad over the weekend.
McCormack had 19 players in training ahead of Saturday's warm-up match against Papua New Guinea at Featherstone.
Catalan Dragons hooker Ian Henderson and NRL trio Peter Wallace, Kane Linnett and Luke Douglas are due to join up with the squad later in the week.
