Man of Steel Danny Brough says Scotland coach Steve McCormack deserves a shot at a full-time Super League job, after the man himself revealed he'd got his appetite back.
McCormack has spent eight months out of the game after leaving his most recent coaching post at Swinton, but hasn't coached in the top flight since being handed the Salford job at the age of just 28 in 2001.
He revealed he has had several job offers during the World Cup, including one from Wigan to work with their scholarship programme.
McCormack said: "I've had eight months off and enjoyed spending time with my family, but being in and around players like Danny and playing on big stages like that, I've got my appetite back for the game, and I've loved every minute of it.
"A few options have cropped up, such as with Wigan and an option with Warrington, and there's stuff with my day job as well. I'll sit down after the World Cup and assess."
McCormack led Whitehaven and Widnes to two consecutive National League 1 Grand Finals each over a four year period between 2004 and 2007, and has also coached at Gateshead and Barrow.
Brough said: "I've worked with Steve for almost 10 years, and any time there's a problem, you know you can speak to him.
"His man management is fantastic, and he gets respect from any team he puts together. He deserves a chance."
