
South West London Chargers completed a historic win in the first round of the Tetley's Challenge Cup with a 12-6 victory over Welsh champions Torfaen Tigers at Chiswick.
Tries by Terence Puna and Paul Wojciechowicz and two goals by Adam Tran won the day for the Chargers against opponents who gained some consolation with the last try of the tie in the final minute from Gareth Roberts.
The Royal Air Force are flying high after completing a memorable 38-10 victory over Dewsbury Celtic. The RAF are now through to the second round of Rugby League's oldest and most prestigious competition, which will be played over the weekend of February 22 and 23. Details of the second round draw will be announced on Monday (February 3).
Other notable winners from the first round include South West London Chargers, who defeated Welsh champions Torfaen Tigers 12-6 at Chiswick (pictured), and East Leeds who emerged victories with a 34-30 golden point win at Underbank Rangers.
The two big derbies of the round were both close affairs and saw Normanton come away from Lock Lane with a 15-14 win whilst in East Yorkshire Myton Warriors defeated East Hull 24-22.
