Halifax v Salford preview
Salford are expected to switch Cory Paterson to stand-off in the absence of the suspended Rangi Chase when they visit Halifax in the Super 8s Qualifiers on Saturday.
The Red Devils still have work to do to maintain their Super League status after suffering a surprise defeat at Bradford in their last fixture and owner Marwan Koukash admits he cannot wait for the end of the season.
Koukash has watched his side miss their top-eight target for each of the last two seasons but is confident the arrival of Australian national coach Tim Sheens as director of rugby can finally change their fortunes.
"It's been great having Tim around," said Koukash, who is happy to take a back seat after being hands-on for the last three seasons.
"He's been a calming influence on everybody at the club. Everybody has a well-defined job here and my job is to support (chief executive) Martin Vickers on the admin side and to support Tim and his staff on the rugby side.
"The only way I do that is financially, that's my only input. I have never had a say in which players are selected to be in the team and from now on I don't even want to be involved in the announcement of who's coming and who's going.
"I'll leave it to the experts. I may have a little fun on Twitter but my job is to support the rugby department and it is they who make all the decisions.
"I can't wait for the season to finish. We need a fresh start, that's twice now we've failed to finish in the top eight and it's now always down to the coach and the owner."
Chase is dropped after apparently missing training but Salford have Reni Maitua back from a one-match ban and Harrison Hansen and Josh Griffin return from injury.
