Hull KR v Castleford preview
Joel Monaghan is relishing the challenge of Super League XXI with his new club Castleford.
Monaghan, who rejected a return to the NRL to sign for the Tigers from Warrington, has been impressed with pre-season training and is backing his new club to be serious contender in this year's competition.
"It is definitely a club on the up and hopefully I can add to that," said Monaghan.
"There was a big turnover from a couple of years ago to last year and they were still up there, on the edge of the top-four.
"It is a skilful team, with only a few new blokes who will have to try and settle in and add something to that.
"The top-four has got to be our minimum goal and if we go out and do our job, it is something we can definitely achieve."
Monaghan will make his Castelford debut against Hull KR on Sunday along with Ben Crooks and Ryan Hampshire, however they are without prop Andy Lynch who is still recovering from wrist surgery.
Hull KR head coach Chris Chester has named new signings Iain Thornley, Chris Clarkson, Thomas Minns and Robbie in his squad for Sunday's clash.
