Dane Manning of Halifax halts the progress of Bulls opponent Tom Olbison
Halifax beat Bradford for the third game in a row as a 14-10 scoreline saw James Lowes' men suffer their first league defeat of the season.
Bradford took an early lead when Etu Uaisele took Adam O'Brien's pass to score down the left but Halifax led 12-4 at the break after tries from Jake Eccleston and Dane Manning.
Steve Tyrer, who converted both Halifax tries, added a penalty in the 50th minute to make it 14-4. James Clare went over to give Bradford hope but it was not enough as Halifax held on for another victory over their rivals.
Featherstone's six-match winning run ended with a 20-12 defeat at London Broncos. Former Rovers centre Ben Hellewell scored two tries and another former Featherstone centre Alex Foster also crossed the line as the Broncos avenged their recent Challenge Cup fourth round defeat at West Ealing.
Rovers led 12-4 at half-time but three tries in the last 13 minutes saw the team from the capital come out on top. Both sides finished with 12 men after Foster and Featherstone's Ian Hardman were sin-binned following a late flare-up.
A dominant first-half display helped Swinton Lions beat Oldham Roughyeds 28-18. Swinton led 24-0 at half-time but Oldham roared back into the match with tries from Danny Grimshaw, sub Adam Files and Jon Ford, along with kicks from Lewis Palfrey but despite the spirited fightback the hosts held on.
Rhodri Lloyd, two tries from Connor Dwyer, Chris Atkin and replacement Corbyn Kilday crossed over for the Lions and Atkin made four kicks.
Batley edged a close game with Whitehaven 24-23 at the Foxs Biscuits Stadium. Whitehaven took a while to get going and were not really in it during the first half and headed into the interval 16-6 down.
Batley's tries came from Dave Scott, Adam Gledhill and two by Alex Brown while the rest of the points came courtesy of Pat Walker's boot.
Workington Town lost 24-40 at home to Leigh Centurions.
Leigh edged a tight first half 14-16 but managed to pull away after the break. Jake Emmitt, Harrison Hansen, Tom Armstrong, Reni Maitua (2), Sam Hopkins and Fuifui Moimoi scored their tries with Martin Ridyard kicking five goals and Ben Reynolds kicking another.
Workington's points came courtesy of two Chris Murphy tries and a try apiece from Jarrod Sammut, Brett Phillips and Jason Mossop while Sammut also kicked two goals.
Dewsbury Rams were 34-16 winners at home to Sheffield Eagles.
