Daryl Powell has praised the patience of Ryan Hampshire as he prepares to make his Castleford debut against Salford on Sunday.
Hampshire, who is on a season-long loan from Wigan, will step in for the injured Ben Roberts at stand-off for the Mend-A-Hose Jungle contest.
"He's been working hard and his opportunity hasn't been available until now with Benny and Galey [Luke Gale] doing really well, but the injury to Benny gives Ryan an opportunity and it's up to him to take it now," said Castleford head coach Powell.
"He needs to grab hold of it and I'm looking forward to watching him play.
"We've been working hard to develop Ryan's game as a half-back and hopefully we'll see the fruits of that this week. He's a threatening player with a whole heap of speed and he'll challenge defences."
Powell welcomes Oliver Holmes and Joel Monaghan back from injury while Salford make one change to the side that lost narrowly to Warrington.
Prop forward Phil Joseph takes the place of Jordan Walne while winger Justin Carney faces his old team-mates for the first time since moving on loan to the Red Devils.
