Hull KR full-back Shannon McDonnell has announced his intention to leave the club at the end of the season.after rejecting the offer of a new two-year contract.
The 24-year-old former Junior Kangaroo joined the Robins from Newcastle Knights on a 12-month deal in November but has told the club he wants to move on despite being ever-present in his first season.
Rovers chief executive Mike Smith said: "Everyone at Hull KR has been impressed with Shannon, both on and off the pitch, and we really wanted to keep him at the club which is why we made him a new and improved two-year offer.
"Obviously we're disappointed that he has chosen not to take us up on that offer but have agreed, at the request of his agent, to allow him to speak to other clubs.
"In the meantime, I have no doubt that Shannon will continue to give his all for Hull Kingston Rovers during the rest of this season."
The announcement comes just a week after his fellow countryman Wade McKinnon quit neighbours Hull FC to return to Australia.
McDonnell looks set to stay in Super League and is being linked with Catalan Dragons, who are looking to replace full-back Clint Greenshields.
