Bradford have been given a boost with the news that Adrian Purtell has been given the all-clear to resume his career.
The Australian, 28, has not played since suffering a heart attack following the Bulls' Magic Weekend defeat at the hands of Leeds on May 27 last year.
He was able to resume training last December with the rest of the squad and has now been told by a specialist that he can play again for his club.
"I'm absolutely delighted with the verdict of the specialist and I can't wait to pull on a Bulls shirt again," the 28-year-old said.
"I'd like to thank all the medical staff, both at the club and at the various hospitals that I have attended, for their care and also the club for their continued support throughout the past ten months.
"I just want to put this behind me now and concentrate on my career."
Bradford coach Francis Cummins believes the return of the centre - who previously played with the Canberra Raiders and the Penrith Panthers in the NRL - will feel like having a new signing on board.
"It's fantastic news for Adrian, the Bulls and the game," he said. "It will be like having a new player on board and I am really looking forward to seeing Adrian playing the game he loves again."
Cummins will name his 19-man squad for this weekend's Super League clash with Hull KR on Friday.
