Four charged after Hull-Cas brawl

Four players have been charged with punching in the fall-out from the brawl that erupted in the second half of Hull's 52-0 Super League win over Castleford last Friday.

Danny Tickle: One of four players charged after brawl

Hull forwards Danny Tickle and Mark O'Meley, and Castleford second rower Weller Hauraki are all facing grade B offences, which carry bans of one or two matches, while Castleford winger Justin Carney could be banned for up to three matches after being charged with a grade C offence.

Tickle and Hauraki were sent off by referee Steve Ganson while O'Meley and Carney were sin-binned.

O'Meley will appear before the Rugby Football League's disciplinary committee on Tuesday while the other three players are eligible to submit early-guilty pleas which will result in the minimum punishment.

Widnes' England second row forward Gareth Hock will also appear in front of the panel following his dismissal during the Vikings' 22-22 draw with Bradford.

Hock, who is on a season-long loan from Wigan, has been charged with a grade B offence of using foul and abusive language to a match official.

Widnes play Catalan Dragons on Saturday before meeting Wigan a week later, a fixture Hock will not be able to play in whether he is suspended or not in because of a clause inserted in his loan move.

The RFL have confirmed that, because the agreement is strictly between the clubs, the fixture would count towards any suspension.

The charges were brought by the RFL's match-review panel, which also handed down a formal caution to Hull KR prop Micky Paea for raising his knee in a tackle during the Robins' 42-22 win over London Broncos.
