Hull KR coach Craig Sandercock has accepted the offer of a new 12-month contract.
The Australian's deal was due to expire at the end of the current Super League season but he has agreed to stay in charge until the end of 2014.
Sandercock left his role as assistant coach at Newcastle Knights 18 months ago to succeed fellow Australian Justin Morgan at MS3 Craven Park and, although they missed out on the play-offs in his first season in charge, their win over Huddersfield last Friday lifted them into the top eight.
"I've said all along that I'd love to stay," Sandercock said. "I'm glad that the contract situation is sorted now and I can concentrate on continuing with the job that myself, my staff and the players have started over the past 18 months.
"There is no quick fix as you have to put systems and structures in place and that's what we've been doing.
"With the amount of promising, young talent we have, I firmly believe that this great club has a very bright future and I'm obviously keen to play a part in that.
"The board have been extremely supportive of me since I've been here, as have the supporters, and we also have a terrific group of players and staff who work hard every day. We'll just keep working hard collectively."
Hull KR chief executive Mike Smith said: "We're delighted that Craig has agreed to stay with the club. I don't think he's had his strongest side out on the park once since he arrived but has battled on and got the team into a good position as we stand.
"As a coach, he lives and breathes the game and is rarely away from the training pitch or his desk. The players themselves will tell you that his attention to detail is second to none and a lot of the one on one work he has done with individuals is starting to bear fruit."
