Scrum-half Jamie Soward lhas agreed a short-term deal with London Broncos after being released by St George Illawarra in Sydney.
Soward, 28, who will move to Penrith on a four-year deal from next season, was dropped by the Dragons earlier this month, just two years after making his State of Origin debut for New South Wales.
The Broncos moved for Soward as a replacement for the recently-departed Australian scrum-half Craig Gower, who made his debut for Newcastle Knights at the weekend.
Soward said: "I'm very excited and looking forward to getting over there and settling in. I've heard a lot of good things about Tony (head coach Rea) and what he's doing there.
"I've always kept an eye on Super League and I'm always looking at results and past NRL players that have gone over there.
"The cold weather doesn't bother me too much so when the opportunity came up the thought of getting over there and preparing and hopefully getting to play in both Super League and Challenge Cup was too good to miss.
"I'm in good shape at the moment coming off a pretty tough off-season so I'm looking forward to getting there." Soward has been linked in the past with a move to Wigan, said he was grateful to the Dragons for giving him the chance to play in England.
"I would like to thank the Dragons and everyone associated with the club for everything that they have done for me throughout my time at the club," said Soward.
"St George Illawarra is a special club with great people and I have some great memories to take with me, especially the Grand Final win in 2010.
"Whilst I would have liked to have finished the season out, I am looking forward to the opportunity presented to me overseas for the remainder of this year.
"Rugby league is a business and this is the right thing for me and the Dragons and I wish the team and club all the best for the future."
Head coach Tony Rea believes the acquisition of Soward proves the club's intent and he has reserved special praise for chairman David Hughes for making the deal happen.
"We're delighted with the club's investment in Jamie. It is an important time in our season and it just shows great intent for the club as a whole," he told the club's official website.
