England captain Kevin Sinfield will have an operation on his injured thumb on Tuesday and is set to be ruled out of action for six weeks.
The Leeds star suffered the injury in the first half of England's victory over the Exiles on Friday night.
England have confirmed Sinfield will undergo an operation which is likely to keep him out until the start of August.
Whilst the news is a huge blow for Leeds, he will be fit to lead England's World Cup campaign.
Sinfield's run of 97 consecutive Super League games therefore comes to an end, leaving England and Leeds team-mate Ryan Hall with the competition's current longest run with 70.
