Hull FC have made two changes to their squad ahead of Sunday's Super League clash with high-flying Huddersfield Giants at the KC Stadium.
Coach Peter Gentle is without the in-form Ben Crooks for the visit of the Giants, who are just one point behind table-toppers Wigan Warriors.
The centre, who has seven tries from the last two outings, rolled his ankle during the defeat to Wakefield Wildcats on Monday but is not expected to face a lengthy spell out.
"We are hoping it is just one week but we will have to wait and see how it develop over the next few days," Gentle explained.
The Black and Whites are also awaiting results of scans carried out on Daniel Holdsworth's calf meaning forwards Chris Green and Jay Pitts get the nod to replace the injured duo.
Similarly, Giants head coach Paul Anderson makes two changes to his 19-man squad ahead of the trip east.
Kyle Wood could appear in a Huddersfield once again following his re-signing from Wakefield Wildcats on a three-and-a-half-year contract earlier in the week.
Young prop Josh Johnson, 19, is also included in the 19-man travelling party as Craig Kopczak and Anthony Mullally both miss out.
With Castleford producing a shock victory against league leaders Wigan last weekend, Giants back row Brett Ferres is hoping his side can continue their climb to the summit.
"We need to do a job on Hull to keep the pressure on at Wigan, last week Castleford did us a favour but we need to put ourselves in a good position to keep pushing towards that top spot and it's an achievable goal and something we want to do," he said.
The Giants have won three of the previous five meetings between the pair and come up against a Hull side who have lost three straight.
