Catalan Dragons have signed former Wigan prop Jeff Lima as the replacement for outgoing captain Remi Casty.
The 31-year-old spent two seasons with the Warriors, helping them to Super League glory in 2011 before then winning Lance Todd Trophy as man of the match in their Challenge Cup final triumph over Leeds the following year.
The former New Zealand international returned to the NRL in 2013, making 20 appearances and scoring one try for the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
The Perpignan club have recruited Lima as a direct replacement for captain Remi Casty, who is leaving France to team up with former Dragons coach Trent Robinson at Sydney Roosters.
"We were looking for a high-profile player to replace Remi Casty in the pack and we are really satisfied to sign Jeff Lima," said Catalan chief executive Christophe Jouffret.
"He has valuable experience of the NRL and the Super League and he will be a great addition to our squad."
Catalan coach Laurent Frayssinous is delighted with the latest addition to his squad; Lima previously played for Wests Tigers and Melbourne in Australia before his arrival at Wigan.
"Jeff Lima fulfils all the criteria I was looking for. He is a consistent and aggressive prop and a real leader both on and off the field," he said.
"The negotiations to sign him were hard but I'm delighted to sign a such quality player.
"He is a respected player in the Super League and NRL and he has a great experience of the big games. He will bring us a lot during the next three seasons."
