Hull KR v Wakefield preview
Hull KR will be looking to bounce back from their Challenge Cup final defeat by Leeds Rhinos last week.
Kevin Locke is happy to play through the pain barrier in a bid to help Wakefield secure their Super League status next season.
The Wildcats have four matches left in the Qualifiers table and the New Zealand international is hoping to make his comeback from injury in Sunday's clash against Hull KR.
The Kiwi full-back joined Wakefield on a short-term contract in June but ruptured a pectoral muscle in only his third match.
Locke decided against immediate surgery which he hopes to have after the conclusion of the season.
And looking ahead to the final few weeks of the campaign, Locke said: "The surgeon said I couldn't make it any worse by playing.
"I've done a good job to make myself stronger and get muscle around it to protect it but it's up to how my body holds up when I do play.
"My goal is to play the next four games and avoid the operation because from there you get a bit of a break to allow it to heal."
Despite the injury, Locke has no regrets about moving to the Wildcats from Salford in June.
"Since I came here, I've enjoyed every moment," he said. "It's a good bunch of blokes and good coaching staff.
"I haven't really started to think about next year, I'm just focusing on week by week. There's still four weeks to prove myself to where I can end up next year.
"It's been a rough season with injuries this year and if I can get out there and do what I do best I can prove to myself and the fans what I'm capable of."
Meanwhile, Wakefield coach Brian Smith faces an injury crisis ahead of the match at the KC Lightstream Stadium.
Smith said: "We have one full-time hooker and three part-time dummy-half players in our squad and at this point none of them are available this week."
"Danny Washbrook has had some experience there and he's ready to and hopefully Pita Godinet is there with him."
The Robins have not named scrum-half Albert Kelly (knee) in their 19-man squad but he could still feature.
