Leigh v Sheffield preview
Gareth Hock is back for Leigh Centurions following knee surgery against Sheffield Eagles
Leigh Centurions host Sheffield Eagles on Sunday in the Middle 8’s and are boosted by the return of pack ace Gareth Hock who has made a rapid recovery from surgery.
Hock has only missed two games after undergoing surgery to repair a torn cartilage and is good to go according to coach Paul Rowley.
‘‘Gaz has trained well all week and it is really good to have home back,’’ says Rowley.‘‘He tells me he has always been a quick healer but he has worked hard to come back.
‘‘Gaz is to be commended for this. ‘‘It just goes to show how keen he is to be out there.’’Leigh need a win and Rowley’s men plan to make the most of home advantage.
The current Championship champions, Paul Rowley’s Centurions, have won the previous two matches but they’re in desperate need of a victory this weekend after three consecutive losses to start off their middle eights campaign.
Sheffield gained their first win of the Qualifiers in round three against Halifax at the Keepmoat Stadium. Rob Worrincy scored a hat-trick against his former employers, while outgoing duo Pat Walker and James Davey performed brilliantly.
