The 27-year-old Australian has been punished for a dangerous tackle on Hull FC forward Mickey Paea during Wigan's 30-24 victory at the DW Stadium on Friday.
Tautai was sin-binned for the tackle and was handed a grade D charge by the Rugby Football League's match-review panel.
Tautai plead guilty at a disciplinary tribunal on Tuesday, and was also fined £300 in addition to the three-match ban.
The Australian, who signed for Wigan in a three-year deal in 2014, will now miss the club's two remaining Super 8s matches against St Helens and Castleford, as well as the upcoming play-off semi-final.
The former Wakefield centre could return in time for the Super League Grand Final, if Wigan make it to Old Trafford.
Leigh's Jamie Acton has been also suspended for two matches and fined £100 for striking with the knees during his side's 34-12 defeat against Halifax on Sunday.
