Hull KR v Salford preview
Hull KR have made four changes as they bid to end their winless start to the Super League season against Salford Red Devils on Sunday.
Hull Kingston Rovers winger Josh Mantellato has returned to the 19-man squad as one of four changes for Sunday’s clash with Salford Red Devils at the KC Lightstream Stadium.
Mantellato has been absent with an eye injury since kicking a last-minute touchline conversion to secure a draw in the Robins’ opening game of the season against Castleford Tigers but is set to return to face the Red Devils this weekend.
He is joined in the squad by the returning George Lawler after he was given a rest in last week’s defeat to Huddersfield, whilst Kieran Dixon and Kieran Moran are also called up this week by interim head coach James Webster.
However, Webster will be without key players Terry Campese, Shaun Lunt and Albert Kelly through injury for what will be his first home game in charge, whilst centre Thomas Minns is also ruled out this week.
Salford, sitting fifth in Super League, are without half-back Robert Lui, who has been ruled out for three weeks with a knee injury.
Salford Head Coach Ian Watson says 'Hull KR are a tough team to face, especially when they’re at home at the KC Lightstream Stadium.'
‘I played against James Webster when he played for Hull KR and I played at Widnes and from my playing memories it’s a tough place to go.
‘After winning at Castleford though, we know we can go to tough opposition’s grounds and win.
‘The main thing is that we’re keeping the team mentality. On the first day of pre-season we told the players to leave their ego’s at the door and we’ve got a group of guys who are all focused as a team.’
